Best vs. favorite. Someone ranking things best to worst had better be a genuine expert, otherwise it is an exercise in hubris. Favorites, on the other hand, is never wrong. One of my favorite John Wayne movies growing up was The Sands of Iwo Jima. Today, my favorites include Rio Bravo (love Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson singing together... though that's not the reason I like the film so much), True Grit, and Hondo. I can't watch The Quiet Man without thinking of my father, who loved that film.
