For those not exclusively on the Apple ecosystem (that's me), and who do not want something radically different from Evernote, I've been recommending Notejoy. Its UI will feel familiar to Evernote users, and it is just as ubiquitous, with your notes available through the browser, and offline through MacOS and Windows apps, as well as iOS and Android. Notejoy is built for team collaboration, but they recognize that single users might benefit from it, so offer a solo plan for $40 per year. (I am not affiliated in any way with Notejoy.)
