Good article about a puzzling gap. I belong to a local historic society that works to help educate people about a Revolutionary War historic site. We had this exact same debate only last summer. We came up with a list of novels about the Revolution, a list that was longer than I anticipated it would be. Albeit, most of the titles were older, and obscure (deservedly so in many cases). But there are exceptions. The novels of Kenneth Roberts are good: Arundel and Rabble in Arms. There is a wonderful novel called Look to the Mountain, by Legrand Cannon, Jr. It is mostly about pioneer life in New Hampshire leading up to the Revolution, but culminates with the Battle of Bennington. It is very enjoyable, and feels authentic.

Thanks for the thought-provoking article.
