Haven't seen the film yet, but I just finished the novel, the conclusion of which genuinely surprised me. One thing I am curious about is why they changed Fiennes's character's name from Lomelli to Lawrence? Maybe just to make it more credible, since Fienne's is English and he wouldn't have to fake an Italian accent? Looking forward to watching the film when it gets to streaming.
