I agree. When I learned the premise -- an aging Sam Spade in France -- and that Clive Owen would be portraying Spade, I was intrigued, but guarded. How could this work? Oh, but it does. My wife and I haven't quite finished all the episodes yet, and conclusions often make or break a series, but I have been charmed so far. I'm glad you've brought some attention to Monsieur Spade!
