I had just left a job when the first episode of Twin Peaks aired. I was heading out on the road the next day for a two month drive around the United States. I had to make sure I was staying in a motel each night an episode of Twin Peaks was on so that I could see it. It was like I was carrying Special Agent Cooper, Audrey Horne, Sheriff Harry S. Truman and the body of Laura Palmer around the southwestern U.S. with me.
