I think you are right. Part of the problem is that note-taking and productivity have been combined into one thing in a lot of these apps. Most of use need to record notes of one kind or another. There is an allure to thinking one app can handle both productivity (i.e. tasks and project management) and note-making. It's like organizing your recipes in the same drawer with your utensils (or something like that).
