I've only been to Hot Springs NP once and that was 43 years ago, so things may have changed. But I found the whole experience very underwhelming. Yes, I did procure a bath, which felt weird with an attendent. I don't recall anything of the architecture. So, I guess what I am saying is if you're going to forego seeing any park, Hot Springs is an okay choice. In my view, you didn't miss much.
