Nice breakdown of options. There is another category you didn't mention, and that is the browser-based writing app. There are several options in that category. Some are direct rip-offs of Scrivener. But some offer a real difference. I'd suggest taking a look at NovelPad or Slice as examples of a well-thought out browser options:
Of course, these have annual subscriptions that may make them too expensive. And they rely on having an internet connection. Also, they are different enough from standard writing software that they may be too much bother to use. Still, it seems to be a growing category, and one worth watching.
