Thank you for debunking these books, which really belong in the category fiction. I began reading Holy Blood, Holy Grail when it first came out. It is a very intriguing premise, but pretty soon I realized that most of the authors' so-called evidence was prefaced with "if this," or "might that" or other phrases that put their entire theory into the realm of speculation.

Truthful history is more interesting than speculation or faux-history created simply for profit. For example, read Russell Shorto's fabulous history of Dutch Manhattan, The Island at the Center of the World.
