We have three doctors each treating a child with a painful and ultimately terminal disease. Doctor A said he was unable to cure the child. Doctor B says he can cure the child, but chooses not to. And Doctor C says, he can cure the child, and then does so. We would all say that Doctor A must be quack, Doctor B is a bad person, and Doctor C is the superior medical man. Since there is suffering of innocent children in our world, then a hypothetical god would be equivalent to either Doctor A or Doctor B, therefore inferior to Doctor C, therefore not god. That's proof enough for me that god does not exist.
